Look Amazing, Feel Amazing” by Cesare Ragazzi Laboratories
The creation process involves 39 steps. It begins with an exact reproduction of your head using 3D scanning, identifying the precise area where you need hair replacement.
The base of the prosthetic is then made from a dermatologically-tested biomedical-grade polymer resin membrane. We then manually graft real, individual virgin hairs onto it, ensuring it mimics the natural distribution, movement and thickness of your own hair.
Your prosthetic system will then be fitted to you (without having to shave off any of your underlying hair) using liquid or solid medical grade adhesives (certified by the American FDA – Food and Drug Administration). Don’t worry, you’ll undergo an allergy and compatibility test before any materials come into contact with your skin.
The area where you need hair replacement is identified. Using state-of-the-art technology, a precise 3D digital reading of the contours of your head is taken. This process can be carried out for you in any CRLAB center around the world.
Using robotic technology in our plant in Zola Predosa (BO), we produce an exact replica in plaster of your skull.
To get a perfect color match of your hair, we look at various mixes of natural hair until the perfect combination is found. We use only natural, non-processed virgin hair where the hair cuticle (the outer layer) is completely intact.
Natural pigments, color-matched to your scalp, are added to the polymer base made in our laboratories. This base is where your new hair is inserted. It will become your ‘second scalp’.
Adding the new hair to the base or ‘hair grafting’ is a manual process. We individually insert each hair onto your polymer base, keeping to the natural distribution, movement and direction of your own hair.
When it’s time to have your hair prosthetic fitted, it will take place at one of our CRLAB centers. While you’re there, you can also have your new coiffure finished and styled.
It’s important to have regular maintenance checks of your prosthetic to make sure it functions well and looks its best. These can take place at any CRLAB center.
After the adhesive materials have been removed, a cleansing process is carried out on your scalp and the prosthetic. This is to make sure the medical adhesive works properly. If you like, you can also have your hair cut and styled during the session.
To keep the prosthetic at its best, we recommend you carry out these maintenance checks regularly. Ideally every 3–4 weeks (about as often as a trip to the hairdressers).
